Kuaishou is a short video app developed by Beijing Kuaishou Technology. It started in 2011 as GIF Kuaishou, a tool for making and sharing GIFs, turned into a short video community in 2012 and took its current name in 2014. Outside China it operates as Kwai, and in some markets as Snack Video.
The Android app lets you shoot and share short videos, apply effects with the built-in editor, follow and chat with other users, and watch or host live streams. Its community is known for authentic, down-to-earth content about everyday life, work and skills, and many merchants sell products directly through live streams.
