About Zoom
Zoom, now called Zoom Workplace, is a videoconferencing and collaboration platform from Zoom Communications, widely used for remote work, international collaboration and online classes. Users join with a meeting ID or link, while hosts can share screens, record meetings and use breakout rooms.
The Mac client brings meetings, team chat and whiteboards into one app. macOS requires granting camera, microphone and screen recording permissions, after which you can share your whole screen or a single window and use virtual backgrounds. Meetings are encrypted with AES-256 GCM and can use end-to-end encryption, and the service follows a freemium model with limits on the free plan.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Zoom.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
Run this in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA256 listed for the cloud file:
