About Firefox
Firefox for Android is Mozilla's browser for phones and tablets. Instead of relying on the system WebView or Chromium, it embeds Mozilla's own Gecko engine through the GeckoView component, so pages render the same way they do in desktop Firefox.
Its standout feature is extension support: the current app uses the same WebExtensions architecture as the desktop browser, and add-ons marked as Android-compatible can be installed directly. Built-in tracking protection blocks hidden trackers without configuration, and a Mozilla account syncs tabs, bookmarks and passwords with your computer. A private browsing mode is also included. Current releases require Android 8.0 or newer, so it suits people who already use Firefox on the desktop or want ad-blocking add-ons on their phone.

How to install
“Install unknown apps” is blocked
This is an Android security setting. Allow “Install unknown apps” only for the app you use to open the APK (such as your file manager), and turn it off again afterwards.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
The APK is usually incomplete, or your Android version is older than the app requires. Download it again and check the system requirements on this page.
It conflicts with an installed version
An APK signed differently cannot replace an app installed from an app store. Update it from the store, or back up and uninstall the old version first.
