About KDE Connect
KDE Connect is an open-source multi-device tool from KDE that enables wireless communication and data transfer between devices on a local network. The Android app pairs with KDE Connect on Linux, Windows and macOS, and with GSConnect on GNOME.
Once paired, phone notifications appear on the desktop and text messages can be answered from the computer. Devices share the clipboard, files and links, and you can browse phone files remotely. The phone can control media playback, act as a presentation remote or virtual touchpad, run predefined or custom commands, and ring when lost. It works over VPNs too, with no account required.

How to install
“Install unknown apps” is blocked
This is an Android security setting. Allow “Install unknown apps” only for the app you use to open the APK (such as your file manager), and turn it off again afterwards.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
The APK is usually incomplete, or your Android version is older than the app requires. Download it again and check the system requirements on this page.
It conflicts with an installed version
An APK signed differently cannot replace an app installed from an app store. Update it from the store, or back up and uninstall the old version first.
