About Telegram
Telegram for Android is the mobile client of the cloud-based messaging service founded in 2013 by Pavel and Nikolai Durov. Regular chats live in the cloud, so your history, media and files appear on every device you sign in to, without manual backups. The app's source is published on GitHub, and Telegram supports reproducible builds so anyone can check that store builds match the public code.
Beyond one-to-one messaging, the app handles very large groups, broadcast channels, bots and Mini Apps, voice and video calls, and large file transfers. Cloud chats are not end-to-end encrypted by default; for that, users can start a Secret Chat, which stays on one device and can self-destruct. Besides Google Play, the APK is available directly from telegram.org.

How to install
“Install unknown apps” is blocked
This is an Android security setting. Allow “Install unknown apps” only for the app you use to open the APK (such as your file manager), and turn it off again afterwards.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
The APK is usually incomplete, or your Android version is older than the app requires. Download it again and check the system requirements on this page.
It conflicts with an installed version
An APK signed differently cannot replace an app installed from an app store. Update it from the store, or back up and uninstall the old version first.
