About VLC
VLC for Android is VideoLAN's full port of the classic VLC media player. It plays nearly any video or audio file, network streams and even DVD ISOs without extra codecs, and it is free, open-source software developed by a non-profit organization.
The app builds a searchable media library with history, browses NAS and network shares, supports embedded and external subtitles including ASS, and lets you switch audio and subtitle tracks. Gestures control volume, brightness and seeking, and headphone controls are supported. It also runs on Android TV and Chromebooks.

How to install
“Install unknown apps” is blocked
This is an Android security setting. Allow “Install unknown apps” only for the app you use to open the APK (such as your file manager), and turn it off again afterwards.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
The APK is usually incomplete, or your Android version is older than the app requires. Download it again and check the system requirements on this page.
It conflicts with an installed version
An APK signed differently cannot replace an app installed from an app store. Update it from the store, or back up and uninstall the old version first.
