About Motrix
Motrix is a free, open-source, full-featured download manager first released in 2018. It handles HTTP, FTP, BitTorrent, magnet links and Metalink in one clean interface built on the aria2 engine, letting you start, pause, retry and reorder tasks while watching progress and speed at a glance.
For torrents it supports selective file downloads, tracker list updates and UPnP/NAT-PMP port mapping. Settings cover speed limits, user-agent spoofing, completion notifications and dark mode, and a plugin system plus browser extension handoff extend it further. The Mac app requires macOS 13 Ventura or later, comes in Apple silicon and Intel builds, can be installed with Homebrew, and shows live speed in the menu bar.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Motrix.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
