About PeaZip
PeaZip is a free, open-source file archiver started by Giorgio Tani in 2006 and released under the LGPL-3.0. Built on open technologies such as 7-Zip/p7zip, Zstandard, Brotli and PAQ, it creates 7Z, ZIP, TAR and other archives and opens RAR, ISO, DMG and a long list of other formats.
The Mac version ships native builds for Apple Silicon and Intel with the same interface as on Windows and Linux. It adds strong encryption (AES, Twofish, Serpent) with optional password-plus-keyfile protection, checksum and hash tools, duplicate finding, archive conversion and the ability to export GUI tasks as command-line scripts. It is a good fit for users who move between operating systems.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/PeaZip.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
