About Bitwarden
Bitwarden for Windows is the desktop client of the open-source password manager. Your vault of logins, cards, identities and notes is encrypted on your PC before it syncs, so the server stores only ciphertext.
Bitwarden offers a standard installer, a portable build for flash drives (which does not auto-update), a Microsoft Store version and a Chocolatey package. The desktop app is ideal for organizing a large vault, while the browser extensions handle autofill in Edge, Chrome and Firefox. The free plan already syncs across unlimited devices; premium and team plans add more features.

How to install

Won’t start, or a DLL is missing
Usually a missing runtime. Install Microsoft’s Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) and the .NET Desktop Runtime, then try again.
