About Steam
Steam is a digital distribution platform for PC games by Valve. It launched as a client in 2003 to update Valve's own games, began distributing third-party titles in 2005 and became the largest PC gaming platform. Today it combines a storefront with library management, community, chat, broadcasting and the Workshop.
On Windows, the client lets you browse the store, keep a wishlist, buy games and install them from your library with automatic updates. Steam Cloud syncs saves between PCs, Family Sharing lets relatives play many of your games, and Family View adds parental controls. Steam Chat, Game Hubs, Workshop mods, broadcasting, controller support, achievements and reviews round it out. The client is free and supports Simplified Chinese among many languages.

How to install

Won’t start, or a DLL is missing
Usually a missing runtime. Install Microsoft’s Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) and the .NET Desktop Runtime, then try again.
