About Docker Desktop
Docker Desktop is Docker's official desktop application for building, running and sharing containerized applications. On macOS, which cannot run Linux containers natively, it sets up the required virtualization automatically and bundles Docker Engine, the Docker CLI, Docker Compose, Docker Build and an optional Kubernetes cluster.
Its graphical dashboard lets you browse containers, images and volumes, view logs and open a shell inside a container, while it takes care of port mappings and file sharing. Builds are available for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Docker Desktop is free for personal use, education, non-commercial open source and small businesses; larger companies need a paid subscription.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Docker Desktop.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
Run this in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA256 listed for the cloud file:
