About Firefox
Firefox for Mac is Mozilla's open-source browser built on the independent Gecko engine. According to Mozilla's system requirements it runs on macOS 10.15 or later and supports both Intel and Apple silicon Macs natively.
For users whose devices are not all Apple, Firefox offers a practical advantage over Safari: a single Mozilla account syncs bookmarks, passwords, history and open tabs with Windows, Android and iOS. Enhanced Tracking Protection is enabled out of the box, and Reader View, Picture-in-Picture, tab groups and Firefox View are all available on the Mac. An open add-on ecosystem lets you add ad blockers, translators and developer tools.
Key features
- Native support for Apple silicon and Intel Macs
- Enhanced Tracking Protection on by default
- Cross-platform sync of bookmarks, passwords and tabs
- Reader View and Picture-in-Picture
- Tab groups and Firefox View
- Open extension and theme ecosystem
