About KeePassXC
KeePassXC is a free, open-source, cross-platform password manager maintained by a community team on GitHub. Usernames, passwords, URLs, attachments and notes are stored in a local, encrypted KDBX database that you unlock with a master password and optional key file. No cloud service is involved, so you decide where your data lives.
The Mac app ships native builds for Apple Silicon and Intel and is also available via Homebrew. It offers a password generator, Auto-Type, browser integration with Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave and others including passkeys, TOTP, YubiKey challenge-response, password health reports, SSH Agent integration and a command-line tool. It is aimed at people who want full control of their data.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/KeePassXC.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
Run this in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA256 listed for the cloud file:
