About QQ
QQ for Mac first appeared as a preview in 2008. Today it shares Tencent's QQNT architecture with the Windows and Linux clients, so features and layout are largely the same across desktops. The official installer is a universal build that runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, and the app is also available from the Mac App Store.
You can message friends and groups, send files, and make voice and video calls with live sharing. Text recognition lets you pick text out of images, and Continuity-style cross-device linking connects your phone and Mac; both require macOS 12 or later. The interface follows the system's light or dark appearance, and QQ groups, Channels and QQ Zone are available in the same client. The app is free, with optional paid memberships for extra perks.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/QQ.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
Run this in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA256 listed for the cloud file:
