WeChat is Tencent's messaging app launched in 2011 that has grown into a super-app covering chat, Moments, payments, Mini Programs and Channels. Its first Mac client arrived in 2014, and WeChat for macOS remains the official way to handle your chats and groups on a Mac.
You can install it from the official website or the Mac App Store; the official page lists macOS 12 Monterey or later. Reply with the keyboard, drag files from Finder into chats, use File Transfer to move files between your phone and Mac, and make voice or video calls. Sign-in is confirmed from your phone. If reinstalling, moving the app to the Trash keeps local chat data, according to the official site.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/微信.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
