About Shotcut
Shotcut is a free, open-source and cross-platform video editor created by Dan Dennedy in 2011 and built on the MLT Multimedia Framework. Using FFmpeg, it handles a broad range of audio, video and image formats with native timeline editing, so clips can be edited without importing or transcoding and mixed regardless of resolution or frame rate.
The Mac version is a Universal app for macOS 12 and later, with older builds kept for macOS 11 and 10.14/10.15. It includes multi-track compositing, color wheels, keyframes, subtitle tools with speech-to-text, audio scopes and ducking, voice-over recording, and 4K/8K, 10-bit and HDR tone-mapping support.

How to install
“App is damaged and can’t be opened”
Move the app into Applications, open Terminal, run this line, then open the app again:
xattr -cr "/Applications/Shotcut.app"“Developer cannot be verified”
In Finder → Applications, Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. On macOS 15 or later: System Settings → Privacy & Security, then “Open Anyway” at the bottom.
Apple silicon or Intel?
Apple menu → About This Mac. If the chip says Apple M, pick the Apple silicon build; Universal works on both.
Check the file
Run this in Terminal and compare the result with the SHA256 listed for the cloud file:
