About 7-Zip
7-Zip is an open-source file archiver developed by Igor Pavlov, mostly licensed under the LGPL and free for any use. Its own 7z format, using LZMA and LZMA2 compression, usually produces smaller archives than classic ZIP.
It can create 7z, ZIP, gzip, bzip2, xz, tar and WIM archives and unpack many more, including RAR, ISO, CAB, ARJ and LZH. It offers 256-bit AES encryption with optional filename encryption, Explorer context-menu integration, a dual-panel file manager and a 7z command-line tool, and its interface is translated into dozens of languages including Simplified Chinese. It is a small, dependable default archiver for Windows users who prefer free software.
