About Krita
Krita is a free and open-source painting program developed by the KDE community and supported by the Krita Foundation. Released under GPLv3, it requires no account, has no trial period and focuses on digital painting: illustration, concept art, comics, textures and frame-by-frame 2D animation.
On Windows it works with graphics tablets and offers a large library of brush presets, several customizable brush engines, stabilizers, vector layers and text, drawing assistants, wrap-around mode and Python scripting. Panels can be arranged into saved workspaces, and shortcut schemes for Photoshop or SAI users are included. Besides the installer and portable builds, paid store editions on Microsoft Store, Steam and Epic offer automatic updates.

Won’t start, or a DLL is missing
Usually a missing runtime. Install Microsoft’s Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) and the .NET Desktop Runtime, then try again.
