LocalSend
About LocalSend
LocalSend for Mac fills the gap left by AirDrop, which only works between Apple devices. With LocalSend running on a Mac and on an Android phone, Windows PC or Linux machine connected to the same network, devices find each other automatically and can exchange files and text messages directly.
No account, login or cloud server is involved: transfers stay inside your local network and are encrypted with HTTPS, with optional PIN verification. The app is free and open source under Apache 2.0, supports macOS 11 Big Sur or later, and can be installed from the App Store, Homebrew or a DMG. It has no built-in auto-updater, so DMG users should update manually.
